FREQUENTLY ASKED / ANTICIPATED QUESTIONS REGARDING ENGAGE
Can I come to this conference if I don't home-educate?
Whilst this is a home-education conference, and all the content will be in that context, we do not want to exclude non-home-educators, or those who want to find out more about home-education. There are many aspects of what we will be covering that will be applicable and beneficial to all Christian families. As long as you are comfortable with the fact that we will often speak about things in a home-education context, we would love you to join us.

I'm single/unmarried/don't have children yet - will this conference benefit me?
Many single people have benefited from asking those already married, or in families for advice/wisdom/counsel. We want to provide this opportunity at the conference. There is great reward in learning much about marriage/parenting/family before you get married and have children - you can save yourself a lot of pain - so yes if you have that mindset we think the conference will benefit you!

Will there be an area for me to take my children during the sessions if I need to?
Absolutely - there will be a room set up to take children temporarily as long as they are supervised by you or someone you appoint. There will also be an area in the foyer with an audio & visual feed (Christchurch only) so parents can sit out of the main auditorium if required and still see/hear the conference sessions.

My children aren't used to sitting still for long periods of time - will it work for me to bring them along?
We want to encourage parents to bring their children along for all of the sessions if possible, but we realise this is not always easy. The schedule will be varied to break things up a bit, but there will be several teaching sessions. You are welcome to create an area near where you are sitting to put little children on the floor with "quiet" activities, or even let them snuggle up to sleep! Although we don't want to distract others from hearing the content, a small amount of baby or toddler noise is ok - again we want the families to experience this together as much as possible. Will my children be bored? Won't the content just go over their heads?
We understand why some parents will think this. At Redemption Church we are used to having children sitting in the meetings, but we recognise that won't be the case for all attendees at this conference. However, please be assured that much of the content will be communicated in a way children can benefit from also. There will be time and opportunity for parents to discuss the content with their children also, and for some of the sessions we will provide optional activity sheets for children.
